Cottage Style Bacon?

I was at the locker today picking up my xmas beef, and spotted some "cottage style" bacon (made from pork shoulder) it said on the label. The slices were probably 10-12 inches long and 3-4 inches wide. I was thinking it may be buckboard bacon, but judging by the size of the slices,it seemed like it would have been an awful large shoulder roast to cure. I suppose I could have asked them, since they made it

but theyre not all that friendly in the first place.

It is indeed buckboard. If the shoulder is on the large side, then, butterflied, the pieces will be long.
