Conversion question....pushing the envelope a bit

Hello all......I have a Genesis II E315 NG that has been a slow seller. I rarely convert grills but propane sells 10 times faster around here so I am thinking about doing it. Here is my problem.......I have a whole tub of manifolds but the manifolds of the same vintage are also NG so that doesnt help. So here is where I would love to push the envelope. Will an older Genesis front control have the same size valve body cones and orifices as the more modern Gen II's? I just wanna swap cones and orifices then slap the correct regulator on it and call it a day. My Spidey senses tell me the engineers at Weber may have been busy and changed up cone size over the years. Let me know.....thank you!

Interesting question. Short answer is IDK as I've never worked on these. Also another factor is what the BTU requirements per burner are for the older vs the newer

Who did the awesome write up about conversions? Was it Dan? Calling Dan.......Calling Dan......I will pull the cones from the old and new to compare with my eyes......but not sure these eyes are measuring instruments anymore.....or if they ever were. :)

Yep that write up has helped me immensely. I have informed many many people about converting correctly from that info. But yes I now need to see if old cones are the same as current....I will check today or tomorrow. Thank you
