I'm planning on smoking a turkey and a flank steak. Should I just let the steak drip onto the turkey (i planned for steak on top grill and turkey on bottom) or has anybody come up with a way to keep this from being an issue? Thanks

Hi Scott,

I don't think you want to smoke a flank steak, not much fat on that cut of meat. It will do much better on the grill. that being said, I have done chicken underneath a pork butt, all you need to do is fold some foil over the top of the turkey. just make sure that the edges of the foil are not furhter out than the drip pan. Otherwise the drippings will go onto the coals. Hope this helps.

Hi Scott!!

I agree, the flamk steak may be better on the grill.

One rule you should always follow......

Never let chicken drip onto other meat! Way too many bugs in it.

Hmm, I'll report back. I have a smoking cookbook that has been good so far. It has two flank steak recipes and claims they are great. I'll give it a shot and let y'all know.
