It has been a LONGGGGG time since I have enjoyed a cup of coffee. Is it me, DH (making the coffee) or has coffee changed over the years? :rolleyes:
 
DH got bagels and coffee this morning from Einstein Bros. It was regular coffee, but as bad as what we make at home. I guess it is just me, taste buds going. :rolleyes:
 
Joan -- I think coffee has gotten better over the years. Way more info than before; much better access to good coffee and good gear than before. The coffee I make at home today is massively better than what I drank years ago.

Check out the numerous long-running coffee threads on here. People obsessing over grinders, brewing methods, best coffee brands, their Technivorm Mocamasters, etc. etc. etc. Quite a few coffee nerds on here.

Give us the deets on DH's methods so we can flyspeck. We could easily coach him up from whatever he's doing now.

Or maybe you just don't like coffee. Do you like the taste of a latte from Starbucks for example?
 
Jim, first off, never had SB's latte, Yes, I do like coffee (won't tell you how many years I have been drinking it :rolleyes: ) and no, it's not DH. He bought us a new coffee maker and that did not help. Sooo, I guess it's me😢

(never read any of the coffee grinder posts)
 
What kind of coffee maker?

The single most impactful thing you can do? Grind fresh with a good burr grinder that is set to the correct grind size for your brewing method.

Grinder matters more than the brew pot.
 
I'm not proud of the fact that I use K-cups but I'm lazy and not going to change or seek a support group.

With that said, I find that coffee from the same box can taste different from day to day. One morning it's absolutely delicious and another day it's just warm caffeine.
 
My wife used to like my French Roast and I used to like her Dunkin donuts blend.
Now we both have our own coffee makers cause I grind my own and refuse to drink her Donut coffee and she refuses to drink mine.
Ain't life grand.:)
 
I am getting to the point where I might go to instant coffee if something doesn't start working that DH is doing.
