Can any one shed some light on how to remove, I believe is house paint from the lid?? I am picking up a redhead today and the guy said there is some splattering of paint on it. Ideas??
Thanks in advance

I use an extra fine steel wool pad. I think the 00000.. Whatever is the finest.
Use some warm soapy water to softernt the paint. Hopefully its latex.
The porcelain coating of a Weber is almost "Non Stick"
Use the paint as a reason to lower the price!
I like a good oven cleaner for the inside.
Of course I like my pressure washer to get things started..

what AJ said.

0000 steel wool

spray some greased lightning or krud kutter on a paper towel and let the moist paper towel sit directly on the paint for a while to soften up the paint.

Thanks all. I don't think they will lower the price, It's only 20 bucks, but its a red head with wood handles. I can handle the little extra work..lol...
I LOVE this website !!!

going to get some greased lightning right now. any one try the "Simple Green for BBQ"??
I was thinking of that as well.

Simple green works, i use it all the time for general cleaning. some very dirty grill require more 'heavy duty' stuff like oven cleaner.

Vincent.

So, your red head has freckles?

Post pics when you get it home. I love red heads... grills or women

didn't pick it up. way too many chunks of paint off of it and it had little dots like pock marks with the paint gone. One touch was completely rusted.

Pick up a pack of plastic razor blades at any NAPA store. Most part stores that sell paint and body work supplies will mostly carry them.
