Finally found another SS in good shape. The cart was as solid as they come, zero rust. The gentleman that had it bought it new and kept in on the lower level under his deck so it didn't get any rain, just several years of crud from being outside. The lid and bowl didn't have any dents, just a few scratches. He had the original manual and the filler for the tank and the tube cleaning wire. He had just bought a new Weber gasser and I guess wanted someone to enjoy a nice performer for cheap ($35.00)
I cleaned the bowl and lid with EZ-Off and disassembled the cart, sanded it down, replaced all of the hardware with SS and repainted. Painted the ash bowl black. Just finished putting it back together late last night. The first pic is of the CL ad, the second is from last night when I finished. (Should get several years use out of this one)

Sorry, forgot to put the thermometer back in, will try to get a pic outside tomorrow if it will stop raining long enough for the sun to come out for a few minutes

OK, believe it or not this thing had half a tank of propane and the igniter still works. Fired up some Royal Oak (2.99 from Tractor Supply) and let 'er rip. Don't know how well the thermometer works, it only reads to 600 and it was pegged out. I was surprised that the letters were all legible on the propane cover, most I've seen have been rubbed off. That gentleman that had this took good care of it since 2000.

Cast iron grates make some serious grill marks.

I notice that you switched out the plastic lid handle for wood. That's a nice touch on a really striking (and with the CI grates, really serious) grill. Great job!

Nice find! I have a 1998 Red Brick/Maroon(whatever you wanna call it). Weber CS told me it is actually called Williams Sonoma Brown. It looks like you got the Stok CI Grates. Its in great shape. I just picked up a 2010 Performer that was purchased earlier this year. I'm happy with it but if I find a SS Blue in good condition I think I will have to trade.

That's interesting, in the parts listing for the old performer under replacement bowl it shows burgundy.

"90074 Bowl for 22-1/2-inch Performer Touch-N-Go grill. 2000 model year. Burgundy."
