chuck steak

Hey TVWBB Members

I picked up some chuck steaks on sale at the local safeway and was wondering what the best way to cook them. I figure since its from the chuck cut it needs slow but they are steak thickness so what to do? Cook like a steak or a roast?

Cook indirect (with some nice wood chips) and then sear direct. It can be a little fatty, but it tastes great, especially for a cheap steak.

It can also be roasted/braised though.

I cooked the chuck steak direct fire in my BGE at about 400 for 30 minutes after a hour or so marinade in italian dressinng. And it turned out surprisingly tender. Cant wait to experiment on this cheap cut of meat
