Chicken stand

I was watching cooking with Ry on YouTube this morning and he did a chicken stand cook.
Looked pretty darn good so I ordered one.

He used used an upside down vortex around his stand thing and a ring of briquettes with a few chunks of wood.
It looked ooked like that vortex really make that skin about perfect.

Have any of you done this?
This is the thing I ordered.

I have something very similar, purchase about 5-6 years ago, it was a Steven Raichlen thing I got in Amazon. Turned out some great birds.

Thanks.
Andy.
Andy, show us how the chicken turns out when you try it.

Well so far this beer can cook has been fun.
This is the first time I tried it so I cherry picked some ideas from YouTube.
Mainly cooking with Rey, Sam the cook guy and then some of my own ideas.
The sauce I made rocks and I stole most of the recipe from Sam :).
I added a bunch of aromatics to the beer too.
It should be done about 6:00 pm.

The pics don’t show it but I,
dry brined with salt
used a couple hot sauces and oil for a binder
used my hot&sweet pork butt rub
put some extra garden herbs in the cavity
made a nice 5 part sauce
