Cheap Handle for my new 22.5 WSM

Hey..I didnt want to drill anymore holes in the 22.5 WSM and couldnt find any door handle that would fit...So I used 2 pipe hanger for $.83 at HD....and they fit like a glove and I am able to move them too for hanging other things on them during the smoke. Check it out. Thanks for Looking. Kim

Great idea, Kim.

I wonder if you put four of those on the bottom section with the tabs up, would it help to hold the lid in place when using the WSM as a mini-grill?
 
before I put handles on the sides of my WSM, I called the kid next door over and bet him a buck he couldn't remove the center portion off the bottom without burning his hands.



I lost.
Many times.
Butt now the kid is off to college (UW). He's an offensive lineman now. Hands tougher than Teflon.
 
Good Idea...I have my 2 newphews for the weekend....I wonder if they both would fall for it...I am sure my brother would have something to say about that...

Awesome idea. "hands tougher than Teflon" is classic!

Just use standard garage door handles and they will fit too if you just flex them inwards just a little! They look kinda ugly at first but then they grow on ya. No drilling either!
