Charcoal Storage

Need some suggestions for charcoal storage. I'm thing some sort of sealed bin. Winter here in WNY and tend to use the gas Weber more.

I store mine in the garage on a wooden shelving unit. As long as you don't store the bags directly on concrete, you could use just about anything.

off the floor in a dryish area in the original bags. if yer really worried then get some big plastic containers and put them in that.

Lowes has two different size Kingsford charcoal caddys. The bigger one is 10.77 and they have a smaller one for 7.98. Im gonna pick one up next week when I pick up more charcoal.

I still have mine in the original bag, and just tip the bag to dispense into my starters when needed. I also keep it in the garage up off the concrete in case any water happens to creep in. But, if you don't have that option, just about any Rubbermaid or plastic container will work great. Just as long as it's out of the reach of moisture, you're golden.

Cheers!

I keep one bag in the Performer bin, and the rest I keep in the dining room until we have company and my wife makes me put them in the garage.

Wish I could use the bin on the Performer but the charcoal absorbs too much moisture. A kitchen towel left on the table will be damp to the touch. The bag of Stubbs that I am using is kept in the pantry. There is a 3 cup scoop inside the bag. Two more bags are stored in the laundry room or the back of the guest room closet depending on how soon they will be used. The remainder is stored on built-in wood shelves in the garage. Rotate as needed.

I keep one bag in the Performer bin. One bag in a patio storage unit along with my wood chunks and all the rest of the KB (around 15 bags) in a 8'x10' outside wood storage barn.

I have about 200+ pounds in the shed that I keep on a couple 2x4's and stack them on top of each other. I then put a tarp over top of it. I also have a couple of those Kingsford Charcoal Caddy's I keep near the BBQ's under the stairs (one for lump, one for briquettes)

I keep the open bags in a 40 gallon trash container (yes, I cleaned it thoroughly with Lysol), and I also keep my utensils there.
