Charcoal leftover ??

Just curious as to how close everyone figures there charcoal useage for a cook. in other words how much charcoal do you have left after your cook is finished. John

I usually have a lot of charcoal left over at the end. I just leave it in there for the next cook with more unlit on top of it and then a few lit on top of that. I figure the more I put in the less I have to worry about drops in temp and so forth.

I do the same as Clark. I roughy follow what Chris mentions in the cooking sections and I always want to error on having more than less.

I eventually shake off the ash on what's left and pile it into big coffee cans and back onto the shelf. I'll mix it in with new on the next cook.
