Charcoal grate and ring mod

Got bored while working at the locksmith shop and came up with an idea. Take 4 key rings and secure the charcoal grate and ring to eachother. Works great. Keeps them together as one unit and does'nt allow any charcoals to fall through to the bottom when filling. Just figured I'd share. The rings are 2 1/4 inch outer diameter.

Clever idea Rob, just wondering how the keyrings hold up after a few smokes? Are they made out of a decent metal, or do they melt/corrode right away?

Thanks, They seem to be holding up pretty good. I did a 12 hour smoke on Sunday and they seem almost uneffected. Just to update my first post, the size of the rings are 2 1/4 inch outer diameter.
