The BIGG one, side view and arial view.

Gets so hot with 20lbs of lump in it that it glows red hot. I wish I would have remembered my infrared therm to see just how hot this thing is. I imagine it could hold 30lbs of lump, but temp of the chimney is insane with only 20lbs. I have never used it with K, but may try that in the future.

Anyone else have a custom to share?

Looks like the perfect size for the "Rancher

Holy cow--are you serious!? Do you cook for 50 at a time? Wow, that must put out some bodacious heat!

George, I hadn't ever considered using it as a grill. That could work well for a steak fry, high heat sear.

Mac, no doubt it would save from having to light 3 or 4 regular chimneys to fire the rancher. I am rather suprised weber hasn't put out a chimney geared towards the rancher. It is a very small niche market though.

Dale, Yes 50 to 70 at one time. This is the setup that we use for our company picnic. I designed this about 4 years ago for this grill. The chimney is a bit overkill, 3/4 of this size would have worked just as well. But when it comes to grills bigger is better right?

If they did, knowing Weber , it wouldn't be available stateside, only in Europe.

Yeah, OK, bigger is better. But when that thing is full and lit, what do you lift it to dump it with? An asbestos crane? I am impressed!

Actually two guys with welding gloves can lift/dump no problem. We always set it in the grill to light it so we don't have to move it too far, reducing risks slightly. The heat baffles and handles could be bigger, but actually do more than one might think.

Mac, no doubt Weber doesn't give us Americans the cool stuff.

I would think the cost of one large chimney would be more than 3 or 4 smaller units, thus proving to be cost prohibiting. Beyond the cost issue, smaller chimneys would offer more versatility in lighting a fewer amount of coals.

Weber probably won't do it because a chimney-starter THAT big, with that much searing-hot coals could be extremely dangerous in the hands of an idiot. No doubt, they would get sued in short order by someone who tried to handle it by themself and burned themself or burned-down their house / garage / etc.
