Changes made to Weber grills

John, thanks so much for your thoughtful reply and the time you spent preparing it.

It is odd, tho, that the new cookbox does not at all resemble cast aluminum, but instead sure looks like polished stainless steel. I guess I’ll find out when my new Genesis E-315, natural gas-fueled, arrives.

As all the responses suggested, Weber is still the best bet in the market and I would be cutting off my nose to spite my face if I were to purchase from another manufacturer.

Thank you again to all who’ve offered their opinions and guidance. All the best to each of you!
Hey Joe! I'm always happy to help answer a question anytime I can.

I reached out to the gas team and confirmed that all Genesis models still have cast aluminum cookboxes.

Dang, are the summits any better?
They were a million times better because we actually had replacements parts for them! Vieluxe were made with a partnership of an outside company called Johnson, however, my memory is a bit hazy on that and there's no one here at Weber anymore that was involved with the project. By the time I started at Weber in 2010 we had pretty much no replacement parts other than igniter kits and a few other small parts.
