CB High Air Flow Charcoal Ring for 22.5" WSM?

Is this a valuable or useful modification to make to a 2012 22.5" WSM? Does this design substantially improve air flows over the stock Weber charcoal ring for a 22.5" WSM? I can see where it may increase harcoal capacity a bit, but wasn't sure if the "high air flow" actually translated into "higher air flow".

On the Gen1 WSM the intake vents are lower in the bowl and had a tendency to get clogged with ash using the stock ring. People came up with mods like spacers on the bolts to raise the grate/ring above the vents.

Cajun Bandit's High Airflow charcoal ring has tabs that the grate nests into and "legs" that you set on the grate bolts so it sits higher than the vents. If you have the Gen2 then it holds more charcoal.
