Has anyone or does anyone use cast iron as a grate in their WSM? I’m thinking about one but I’m. Curious to hear others opinion. I’m guessing it has to have an effect on the meat, temps and time or even fuel consumption. Thanks in advance for any comments
 
I have one my Son gave me for my OTG.
I use it for when I want killer grill marks.
Not seeing an advantage for one on a WSM for smoking?
 
I have CI for my large BGE, and I only use it for direct heat hot cooks.

SS rod grates are a lot easier to clean than the cast iron grate.

Edit: I don't see any benefit using CI on a WSM.
