Cast Iron Pan Restoration


 
I don't think I'd bother (I haven't). It's super easy to work with, try it out first. If you were somehow able to screw it up (you won't), then sand it. I have 6 pieces I rotate through, 2 main ones.... use them for a while, then switch to another to increase its seasoning. It's easy, good, and I think you'll like it. .....Save the paper towels you use to season it (oiled ones) in a ziplock bag....after they've cooled... you can use the oiled paper towels to light your chimney...
