Cast Iron grates???

My CI grates is by far my favorite accessory I have for my Grill. Yes it makes good grill marks but that is not the main reason I like them. I like the for the heat retention mostly. If you must stay in a certain budget I would look for a used Performer and get the Craycort CI grate.

I absolutely love my cast iron grates! I bought these from Amazon for less than 40 bucks:

They are made by Stok and fit the performer perfectly. It even has a center cut out for you to add charcoal, and it is designed with a notch to fit the weber chimney exactly.

It has made a huge difference in my high heat grilling. I am able to get an excellent sear. I like my steaks "Pittsburgh rare" and this is the only grate that has allowed me to achieve that.
