Well, today I became a member of the club with the arrival of my new grates. I ordred a 18.5 and 22.5. Tonight I did strip steaks on the 18.5, and what a difference the grates make. I should have bought these many years ago.

Do you see a big differnce in end results with these grates?
 
I did my first cast iron cook tonight and was very pleased. The burgers were grate!

The differences I see are:
1) More surface area of the meat hits the hot rods giving, IMO, a nicer sear.
2) Along with that, love those grill marks when I want them.
 
I've been using my Q200 CI grate in the Performer. I can't remember who I got the idea from, (someone on the board), but it works great! (pun intended). It is a bit hard to move around when hot, but for now I'll take it.
