Buying wood on Ebay

Anyone ever buy smoking wood on Ebay? I want to try Sugar Maple but I haven't been able to find it in any stores by me.

I was looking at this listing here

I don't know a whole lot about buying smoking wood, as I've bought only "commercial" type bags up to this point. Any suggestions on what to look for?

Thanks in advance

I haven't but when I buy things on ebay I look at the items they are selling...are they selling one thing randomly or do they sell a lot of this kind of stuff. I also look at their feedback. This listing in particular, the seller has great feedback and people have left comments about the wood he is selling. The shipping is expensive but I'd take a shot at one to see if its good. If it's no good (not as described being bug free etc) make sure you go through paypal and file a claim with them to get your money back.

I have purchased smoke wood via ebay before ! I live in a desert, and there are not many trees around here, since I cannot get the wood I want or need locally ebay works for me. I have not purchased from this particular seller, but just as Chuck_B stated, the sellers feedback is 100% positive after well over 3000 transactions, so the seller can be trusted. PayPal is a safe way to to perform monetary transactions via the internet. Sure, you are paying more for shipping than the actual product, but what else are you going to do to get the smoke wood you need?....
Go for it !...

Over the past few years several people have commented favorably about this seller here. I was going to buy from him but lucked into some wood from a neighbor......

I have actually bought from this seller before and the experience was ok, I got exactly what I was expecting however it took longer to ship than I expected but the wood was in perfect same size chunks.

I have bought from them on more than ten occasions. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Fast shipping and great communication. Good seller.

You can also try these guys I get my own sugar maple off my property but I have used their apple and cherry and it's very nice.
We had 90 mph winds the other day and one of my neighbours maples came down so I'm getting lots from him

Yeah I love when wood "almost" falls in my lap. I've been eying a small oak in my bush but the wife won't let me near it.

Have to stop by the apple orchard to see if they lost any trees or branches.

I am sure that this wood is the very best but it is pricey too! I can understand if you do not have access to any free wood then by all means. I just go to my in laws fruit orchard like every 2 or 3 years and cut a dead tree down and chunk it up at home! We got maple oak cherry and apple!
