Burn time

I have a WSM 22 I would like to know how I can get a long burn.
I have done ribs and it was simple. So know I want to do a pork shoulder.
I hear people getting a 12hour burn without adding fuel.
How is this done?

I fired up my 22"er about 12 hours ago with a full ring of Kingsford Competition briquettes. The Comp is better than regular ol' Kingsford blue bag, but not as good as Stubbs. Still has too much ash and that's my biggest issue going this long. Since I added 'handles' and wired the charcoal ring to the grate, here's my method. After 10-12 hours, I do a hot-squat and remove the middle section. Then grab the charcoal ring handles and give it a shake. After letting ash ashes clear for a few seconds, replace the center section and keep truckin along.
