Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration

Possibly it was the dirty burners? I was finally about to get the oven side out this evening, it was a bit stuck on the manifold. I was able to blow a good deal of rust flakes or if it. The burner looks overall solid like the other one, but maybe that has someone to do with it. I'll get it together and try again tomorrow
I'll have to look again but I think I found vintage broilmaster regulators they looked similar but one was NG like mine and the other was LP.

NEVER use the adjustable regulators on grills. They're not meant for grills. They're meant to be used on space heaters and other high draw high pressure appliances not on grills designed to be used on low/steady pressure

Do you have a picture of the hose and regulator that came on your grill?

I missed this one last week but I didn't know if I was going to grab the one I got at that point. This would have been great for the table brackets. Actually could have used multiple things off of it. That is a cool style grill alsoView attachment 120404
I hear you Josh, I missed a really nice Genesis 2000 two weeks ago and it was free. Not long after I bought one in a little better frame condition for $50. I still regret not getting the free one. It messed more with my confidence in personal judgment than not having the actual grill.

Sounds like you found a better one for not much money! I'm always happy to pay a little more for a nicer grill to start with.

@Jon Tofte and @Josh Dekubber , the temp gauges came in. Not exact but close enough for my taste and realistic expectations. And the price was great. I'll let you know how well they work (or don't!)
That's great my four should be showing up today also. One of my original temp gauges doesn't work and the other one I don't trust to be accurate. My stainless steel shield for under my main burner showed up yesterday and my new knobs to be here Friday. I think I'm probably going to run ceramic tiles. I find them to work extremely well and after doing research it sounds like it might be the best option also like the way they look so I'm going to go to the store now and check them out maybe pick some up.

They seem to function well enough. I can't test for accuracy as well as I hoped because my probes max out at 572⁰ and both sides were higher than that. I think with replacement heat shields in both sides and some lava rock inside it should even out a bit better. And obviously I need to adjust the main grill side as the flames were far too yellowPXL_20251007_210434821.jpgPXL_20251007_205828657.jpgPXL_20251007_205818607.jpgPXL_20251007_203040726.jpgPXL_20251007_202400083.jpg

Do you see a way to make the shield for the main burner side for the oven side? I'm missing both. The previous over was crafty and had used aluminum foil disposable cookie sheets cut up and put under 😂

There's a generic one on sale on Amazon today I bet you could pick that up and cut it to fit.

And another interesting find, apparently harbor freight has a wheel that would match and replace the one mismatched wheel on mine. I didn't expect that but chat gpt found it quicklyScreenshot_20251007-171639.pngPXL_20251007_211759210.jpg

What did you search for? Broilmaster heat shield?
Is this what you're thinking? I wonder if that's the correct size or close for the main side as well. I'm unsure how far it's supposed to go, just under the burner?Screenshot_20251007-172043.png
