I notice that neither description of starting the fire for BRITU, the original or the example cook, used the Minion method for starting the fire. Is Minion reserved for longer cooking times?
I have a question about that also. When cooking ribs, can the amount of charcoal be reduced when using the MM since the cook time is not nearly as long as it is for butts?
I am a huge Minion method fan and, like Bruce, use it on just about all my cooks now. For shorter cooking times, just reduce the number of unlit coals. With a little trial and error you get to know how much you need for what.
