I'm ready to do my first brisket this coming weekend, I don't have any questions on the cooking/smoking procedure but rather the best part...eating.

Are you guys just slicing this hunk of beef up and serving with veggies or making sandwiches?

If anyone can pass along favorite serving suggestions, I would sure appreciate it.

I know...I could eat it any old way I wish, but I would like to learn from those who have done this a few times.

Thanks

Hi Philip!

I slice and serve the flat portion and then pull the point to make sammiches and keep some around for other uses....chili, Mexican foods, etc.

In restaurants like around here, I usually get brisket straight up, with sides. Beans, corn bread, greens, and cornbread. Its great that way.

I have yet to make a brisket at home and not make a big pot of beans along with it. I leave the bread out as an option. So if people want to make a sandwich, they can. About half do. Ohterwise they just have it striaght up with beans and a salad.

Thing is about brisket, it's killer either way. You can't go wrong!

And if anyone has a good greens recipe out there, I'd love to hear it.
