brisket question, small guy!

I made the mistake of when at Costco and they didn't have pork shoulder that I'd get both the brisket and pork butts at my local market, well the local market had awesome butts but the brisket was only 2.5 pounds. I wanted to try a brisket so I got this anyways.

I was going to do the Midnight cook method so I could just put it on along with the two butts, however since it is so small I'm thinking of maybe just doing it for 5 hours, from when i wake up in the morning on the shoulders and let them keep going.

What are your thoughts? Still worth it?

I'm afraid you are going to be disappointed in a flat that small. Couple hours in smoke the wrap in foil with some beef both till done
 
The wierd thing with small briskets is that they often seem to take a long time to get tender but if you don't foil them with liquid they dry out. The most successful small brisket cooks we've had have been maybe 10-12 hours total, but maybe 2/3 of that in foil... so pretty much what Jeff said but giving them a bunch of time to get "done".
 
I know I worried a lot on the last cook that we were going to dry out the brisket (to the point where I said we should re-plan the day and limit the cook time to 4 hours or so) but fortunately I was ignored and the brisket turned out pretty good. The baseline cooking method for small brisket seems to be in a pot with liquid and a tightly fitting lid on the stove or in the oven for a few hours.

It's probably fair to say the risk of turning into shoe leather goes up when you cook for more than 3-4 hours, but the tenderness seemed to go up as well, so pick your point on the line ;)

Turned out really good! Smoked it for 2.5 hours then threw it in the oven to finish. My pork butts came out amazing, however didn't snap any photos of those. Also did 2 chickens, a ton of sausage and a ham from a neighbor who just wanted to throw it on. All was amazing.
