Brisket price toooo high!!

I was planning on a brisket for the weekend
in my wsm. My first cook, a butt, turned out
great!
The price at my local Winn Dixe was $4.59 lb for a flat. This sounds really pricy to me.
What is the prices in some of your areas?
Is this too much?

I just purchased two whole packers (25 lbs) at $2.50 per lb. I find I don't purchase my Q meat from the grocery store... unless on sale they are usually higher in price and often cut undesirably. I would check your local warehouse club first. You have to look around. I happened to find these at a Latin market. I would think you could find comparable prices.

Yeah, that seems pretty high. Where do you live? Maybe you have a local butcher around, or a Sams.

I have been buying full packers from walmart since my sams next door won't order in full packers unless I buy the case. Walmart sells full packers for $1.58 per pound. Their flats sell for roughly a dollar more per pound. It is hard for me to understand why someone would buy a flat over a full packer.
