Bourbon tour - KY - Lexington, Louisville, Bardstown - seeking input/info

IIRC this topic has come up before with some members doing some bourbon tours in this specific area.

Topic, my son will be having his Bachelor party and he wants to do a bourbon tour to this area and is seeking recommendations/input from anyone who has actually done one of these tours

Any specific must see/do tours? Any must avoid/not worth it places? Restaurants that are must experience? Places to stay that are nice (and safe, of course).

The trip will be this October or spring 2025.

When is a better time to go to this part of the USA?

Your input and feedback is appreciated. TYIA

Make your tour reservations as far in advance as possible. Nail the dates and start making reservations.

Both the rickhouse tour and the restaurant at Bardstown Bourbon are HIGHLY recommended.
I'd say skip Mammie's Kitchen in Bardstown.
The hardhat tour at Buffalo Trace is a good time, but hard to get on.
Lux Row also has a great tour, and their happy hour events were a lot of fun.
Yellowstone is a very nice tiny little distillery.
Log Still has a great site and facilities.
Downtown Louisville has quite a few tasting rooms, but check their hours.

While I had a lot of fun at all of the distilleries, the smaller ones I found to be a lot more enjoyable.

I did not feel unsafe anywhere.

Before I forget again, you could spend the better part of a year on the Bourbon Trail (actually, the guide book is rather useful,) and still not hit a fraction of the distilleries. There are new ones opening literally weekly.

Oh, food..... try the smoked cabbage.....

I killed a laptop just about the time that I finished organizing a pic album. Now that I've got the new laptop sorted out, I should post up the album.
