I've been meaning to had some angle iron to support the legs. Wasn't sure on adding a shelf or if I would ever use it but during my morning walk my neighbor thru out some parts for a garage shelving unit.
The shelf looked SS but had some corrosion from chemicals I guess.
I carried that back home and started fab.
Weber had threaded inserts on each leg which I assume they were going to offer a shelf as a add on.
I used 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 (16GA) punched angle iron galvanized.
The holes lined up easy, the legs could be flexed a bit in each direction.
Painted with rustoleum black hammer finish.

The shelf was a little short on the width. It was 22 1/2" where I could of used 26" and made it even with the front and back.
It actually worked out better centering it because I can still access the foot brakes on all 4 wheels when they are turned sideways.
