Book Suggestion

Book Suggestion?

So here's the deal. A co-worker is retiring in June. I was tasked with helping figure out a gift. Well, duh! He likes to BBQ. He's getting a WSM! But now... I would like to come up with some accessories. One of them would be a book. What do folks in the "community" consider to be the "bible" of smoking/BBQ'ing?

It'd be cool if you make him a log book.

You can get one of those 3 ring binders that has the flap in the front cover where you can put his name, and maybe a cool Weber logo or something.
You can also add your favorite rub, sauce, injection recipes.
I made one of these with my favorite recipes for a Christmas present and it was received very well.
It doesn't take that much time, and is something that won't sit on the shelf.

I can't recommend a book. Honestly, when it comes to recipes and how to use the WSM, this site has no comparison. I think Mark has a great idea, especially adding some personal/favorite recipes and tips like he said.

I agree with Greg in that I wouldn't recommend a book - this site is MUCH more useful than any book I've run across. If you know he's getting a wsm, there are a few tools that I consider indispensable that might make good gifts. Number one on my list would be a Maverick ET-732 or ET-733. After that, a Weber chimney, two Ove Gloves, a set of heavy rubber gloves, and a Thermapen all come to mind. There are enough things at different prices in there that you could probably hit any price range you want to hit by mixing and matching things like these.

I like "Peace, Love and BBQ " by Mike Mills. More for the background stories than actually recipes.
