Blower issues, 4.1.4, First Build

I just built my first HeaterMeter 4.1.4 and I cannot get my board to power on via the 12V supply but it seems to work fine with the rPi power adapter. I can get my probes and ambient to register and I can get into the web interface.

My issue is that I am unable to get my blower to power on. I do not seem to be getting power to the blower, can anyone offer any advice? Pics of board to come, thanks!

The rPi and HM will work when powered by USB, but the blower will not work unless you power by the 12v input on the HM. (do NOT plug in the 12V power supply AND the USB power at the same time). So that explains why the blower doesn't work.

What you need to do is figure out why the unit wont power up with the 12V wall wart?

Check the polarity of all your electrolytic capacitors (cans) and all your diodes, measure your voltage on the board.... Check
+12V
+5V
+3.3V

The power scheme goes like this... The 12v comes in from the wall wart, the DC-DC converter board reduces that down to +5v, the MCP1700-33 regulates the 5V down to 3.3V....

Taking a quick look at your pic I see your (a) problem, you have the diode that runs parallel with the edge of the board installed backwards.....

RalphTrimble - you are the man. That resolved the issue and all is well now. Thank you, thank you. Also, If you are ever in Texas ping me and ill get you a beer.
