Blower Feedback

I was poking around the schematic again... I don't know why I keep doing that, I just confuse my self.

On the blower circuit there is a 12v_fb that goes to ADC1 on the atmega. What is this? Or rather how does the HeaterMeter use it?

It's for the "voltage mode" available on v4.2 hardware

Voltage mode is available on HeaterMeter v4.2 hardware and enables step-down circuitry to produce a constant voltage on the output pin between 5V and 12.1V. Voltage mode is more precise with a linear output curve, and runs the blower more quietly than pulse mode.​

So the feedback is used to monitor the PWM? And adjust it to more accurately hit a voltage? More complicated than that?
