Big 'ole turkey legs brining

Haven't done a high heat cook on the new 14.5, so I've got 2 monster turkey legs I was gonna roast a couple of days before Thanksgiving for extra stock... But...
My Wife loves the turkey legs hammy tasting like at the Renaissance Faires, so I've got 'em brining in salt and brown sugar.
I'll hit 'me with a pork rub and a high heat cook either tomorrow or Sunday, I'll post how they come out.
I'll probably use lump and maple for this

Renaissance Fairs, Disneyland Drums....Many names for this great treat. Look forward to your pictures

Thanks Chuck, I haven't stopped using the 14.5 my Wife got me for my Birthday since September, I freaking Love it.
Did a rare Prime Rib roast Tuesday for our Anniversary, over the last 2 months, done lots of brats, a couple of pizzas, and 2 batches of jerky that were the best we've ever had, I'll never buy the stuff again...and, one of the best pork butts I've done to date.
I am a bit on the fence with a 17 lb Turkey for Thanksgiving though, might avoid the stress and use the 18.5

I'll have to try this recipe, thanks for posting the video. The recipe I use calls for boiling in 7-up prior to smoking. They're very good but the boiling in 7-up is kind of weird.

If I had both and had to choose, I'd probably go with the 18 for a 17LBS Turkey. I'd probably draw the line in the sand at about 12LBS for the 14. I did a 8LBS on my mini, it worked out pretty good. I normally run a clay saucer wrapped in foil for my defuser in my mini, but for that cook I ran a deep pie dish. Worked out well, as it caught the drippings :wsm:
