Beef tip sirloin suggestions?

Hello all.
I picked up a sirloin tip roast to cook today. Its about 3 lbs. Was wondering if anyone has some good turnouts with theirs and has any suggestions on cook times, rubs, seasonings, etc.

By the way, I plan on cooking it using indirect on a 22" kettle with charcoal. I also have apple and cherry wood, would one of these be better for flavoring?
Thanks in advance!

It's one of my fav-o-rite cuts of meat. I just rub it with freshly cracked black pepper and course sea salt and wrap it up overnight in the frig. Now I like my beef rare so I take it straight from the frig to the smoker and smoke it at around 300*f till it reads an internal of 125*F. I always use pecan so I have no experience smoking it with other types of wood. Good Luck!
