My wife got a beef chuck roast. It is a pound and a half in weight. Should I anticipate the standard 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs a pound to do? Thanks for the help...nothing I'd smoke but what the wife wants she gets!!

Kevin Taylor (Stogie) has the #1 recipe for the chuck roast if you can find it with a search. Otherwise, locate his name and go to his homepage where I think you can find all the details.

Kevin recommends 3 hours per pound when smoking a chuck roast. My family loves it. The last one I did I just used taco seasoning for the rub & used for shredded beef tacos. The smalles one I've done was 2-1/2 pounds.

I can verify that Stogie's advice on the Chuck Roast is right on. I've done several and 3 hours per pound is perfect.

Now, if you want something really special, cook that chuck roast under a butt.
