BBQ Santa found our house

Lots of BBQ related goodies under our tree this year, including a rib rack, a Maverick, FireWires and a Crate & Barrel sauce pot.

12lb turkey is dry curing in the fridge and I just made a sausage dressing fatty. Will post pics later today.

Merry Christmas to all the great people here!

I got an instant-read thermometer, and a Weber Rib-rack!

The word got out to my family as well. An extra chimney starter so I can do two at once when needed, the "Backyard BBQ" book by Richard McPeake, and some cash to buy a new supply of wood chunks for 2011. Santa (courtesy of my wife especially) was very good to me.

I got a One Touch Platinum, 14" Forschner granton slicer.

Gave my brother Charcuterie. Believe it will open another pandoras box at his house

I got a 12" Forschner granton slicer, a 22 piece knife set, a bbq tool set, and 21 inch tongs (so I can pick up and turn a full slab of ribs!) Forget Santa, thanks and love to my wife!

C'mon Don, tell us what all that stuff is! I want a pair of "Insulated Hot Food Gloves".

Yeah, you pretty much made out like a bandit Don. I think I picked up the same slicing knife. It's awesome. My son refers to it as my "short sword." Happy Holidays!

Thank you very much for the effort in that Don!
I'm asking because I have been wanting some of the same items.
I still can't figure out what the item at the bottom right of the picture is. Looks kinda like a Walkman or a CD-Cleaner. Wuz-dat?

Also, is that another pair of hot food gloves just to the left of my unknown item?

Note to self: Get a good spatula, I think a RED handle indicates high heat.

Ain't it GREAT to be able to cook??

That's an extra blade for the slicer. The other gloves are kind of a gag-gift...the fingers (blue part) are coated with kevlar and are worn so you don't cut your fingers off when slicing stuff. They came with the two new knives...an attempt at humor from my wife.

Looks like everyone made out well this Christmas!

I was lucky and blessed to receive a thermapen from my wife. I also got 2 bbq related books... smoke and spice, and bobby flay's grill it.

I must have been on the good list this year...cast iron cooking grate for one of my 22.5s, 11 inch carving knife from William Sonoma, couple of new bbq books, and an Oregon Scientific wireless thermometer!

unfortunately, Santa forgot the 22.5 WSM that I put on the list, though!

Craig build a mini WSM out of your SJS, you'll forget Santa's mistake!

I must say I have a great wife (my 2 or 10 hints at a Foodsaver + a couple emails of coupon codes made it happen).

She told me she first got me a cheapo "no name" food saver system, but after thinking about it and reading different reviews online, she thought I deserved the higher end Foodsaver Brand machine (since I never really ask for anything for Christmas/birthdays since we've known each other).

Wow, I guess I have been good

Sort of...
