FYI:

In "The Classic Italian Cook Book", the author states her preference for Basil of a small-leaf variety.

This past Summer, I ordered some "Fino Verde Compatto" from Jung Seed.

Good stuff! If you have any favorite recipes that call for Basil, grow some (it's easy) and check it out.
 
I had a bunch of the regular basil growing all season but never had the time to use it. Last year I did make a lot of pesto.
