Does anyone have one of these?

If you do, I'm just curious what it's made of? For instance, similar to the kettles, steel with an enamel coating? Or cheaper and less durable, e.g., thin-painted plastic, aluminum?

Does it have two grates, top and bottom? Does the damper actually rotate?

Just fiddling around with a fun little project idea and this info will tell me whether it's feasible or a no-go.

Thanks!

Dan, I have one that I purchased a few years ago at the Weber Grill Restaurant in Chicago. It is made of metal, can't say whether it is aluminum, steel, or some other metal, and I am nearly certain that the black color is paint, rather than a porcelain coat. It has one grate, and no lid. The damper does not rotate. The relative dimensions seem to me to be more evocative of the old style ranch kettle than they are of the iconic Bar-B-Kettle.

Mine sits on my desk at the office. I use it as a business card holder, with the cards standing upright in the two adjacent gaps in the center of the grate.

Very helpful, thanks Kevin! Appreciate the detail. If anything comes of my project I will be sure to pose pics.

You could do some mods and make the worlds smallest WSM.

Come to think of it wouldn't it be cool if they just made mini WSM's for the same reasons they made this one?
