Baked beans under the Butts

I've got two 8lbs butts going on the wsm, if the cook will go 16+hrs... When do I put the beans under butts?

I usually put beans under butts for the first couple of hours of the butt cook. Then, I take them off, wrap the pan with HD foil, cool, and re-heat back on the pit the next day (assuming you're doing a long butt cook.) You could do them for the last couple of hours of the butt cook, I imagine you'll still have some good drippings then.

I think many try to time the beans to be ready when your meat is. Depending on the recipe you use, 2 - 3 hours should be enough.

I go at least 4 hrs under the butts and up to 6. I put them on at the tail end of the cook.

I also put them on for the end of the cook. I go for at least three hours.
