Bad Spare Ribs?

Opened a package of spare ribs this morning and on the back side of it there is big dark blue or purple spots on it. They smell ok. Are they ok to use?

Yeah i have seen that also from time to time when buying spares.Not sure where it comes from but never had any issues with taste.

I wonder if it's ink bled through from the skin stamp?

Thanks. It did look like ink. On the smoker now.

Yep, see that all the time on many cuts of meat. No worries at all.

The first time I saw it it sort a freaked me out too! It;s all good and as Bryon said, you'll be fine.
