Well, it was a rough couple of months since I've last been able to be here, between family and vehicle issues.
Just thought I would pop in and let everyone know I now have an arborfab basket as a result of a Christmas gift.

It is much lighter in weight than you would think, so anyone going for it I do recommend getting it fully welded as a single piece basket. Makes getting it in and out a very simple process, and you can use weber charcoal baskets to make the large wsm more efficient with lighter loads of charcoal.

I like mine, I use lump royal oak it adjust quickly to vent adjustments and with the added basket capacity it will run a full load of the royal oak lump for an easy 12 hour cook if needed.

Missed this one Joe, sorry for the late reply. The basket shouldn't. The area that most affect a wsm for controllability is how well the outside is sealed. After that, the basket just regulates what you allow into the smoker, nothing more.
