Article on ceramic cookers

A piece of BBQ history: We owned 2 Japanese pachinko pinball games and they occasionally needed some adjustment. I was a frequent visitor to the Pachinko House in Chamblee, a close-in suburb of Atlanta and I vividly recall when they began to carry the egg cookers and the sad day when they ceased servicing the pachinko games. I even tasted some of those good original chicken wings from the demos mentioned in the article. Although tempting, I wasn't ready to buy an egg at that time, and it was a few years before I fell in love with my WSM in 1987. We'll have a 24th anniversary next month in August. The article brought back some pleasant memories.

Countdown: 16 days until a Penzey's store opens here!

I am certain that this will not be a popular reply since I am such a new poster on this forum, but I have owned my Big Green Egg for almost a decade and can't imagine cooking without it. That said, I have no experience with the Weber Smokers so take that into consideration.

I have always had a backup "quick grill" for days that the smoker was not practical, but was disgusted with the quality of the two-year disposables offered by the other companies. I am so thrilled with my Weber Spirit E-210 so I joined this forum.

If my little E-210 is any indication of the Weber quality, then those of you with WSMs or other cookers should be proud, happy, and satisfied.

Best regards,
Clair
Both a fan of WEBER and BIG GREEN EGG

Unlike some other forums nobody is going to flame you here for liking other grills. Lots of us have different types and brands of grills. We just like our Webers too.

Welcome.

+1 !

Thank you for posting the article. I agree with Weber's approach, let them do their own thing and let Weber focus on theirs. Each have their place in the world of cooking.

Rita, You are going to be the first person in line, aren't you?

Welcome to the forum Clair. You'll find that people here don't really care what you cook on, as long as you cook!
