My sister is having 3 apple trees removed from her back yard this weekend. Should I get over there and grab some before the tree removal guy hauls it away?

I've never used any other type of wood other than hickory so far (mainly because it's easy to get).

Abso-friggin-loutley!!!

Apple makes a great flavoring wood. NOt too strong, but definately there.

Cur 'em up, age 'em in the garage. You'll be good to go.

OK, OK... that's what I thought. I knew cherry wood was good-- couldn't remember about apple. Thanks all for the confirmation.

I just got off the phone with my sister and it turns out one (possibly two) of the three trees is a pear tree.

What about pear wood-- any good?

Frank, with all that wood, you'll never be able to use it all before it rots...Remember your friends /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif here on the forum . . .
