Apple Butter Rib Sauce

I was up in Lancaster this past weekend and picked up some apple butter. I was thinking since I am going to be making Keri's Hog Apple Beans for a gathering this weekend why not make a sauce using the apple butter. Has anyone used apple butter in a sauce or a glaze for spares?

I like juice or cider. In a foil sauce, I have used apple jelly-very pleased with it. Apple sauce or a butter just does not work well for my tastes.

Got this from Cooks Country
2 cups apple cider or juice
1/2 cup apple butter (I use 1 cup)
1 bay leaf
1 sprig thyme
Simmer til thickened

Excellent glaze for pork tenderloin roast

I think I'm going to go with this:

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup ketchup
1-2 tablespoon apple butter
1 tablespoon apple cider
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup water

With a few changes of course. Will let you know how it turns out. Going to smoke some spares with a cast iron pot of beans underneath to catch the drippings. I'll have to figure out how to post pics.
