Anyone tried using ET73 pit port with a meat probe?

Hi,

Just dawned on me since I'm getting a guru I won't need my ET 73's pit probe to measure the pit temp anymore.

Has anyone tried using a meat probe in the pit port? Can't see why it wouldn't work.

Rob -- That ET-73 does have remote reporting, instead of walking to the smoker. Also, the dumba$$ engineer in me likes the 1 or 2 degree accuracy and independent readout of the ET-73 vs the nearest 25 degree mark on the Guru. I will let you know how consistently the Guru maintains temperature tomorrow night.

I think it would work. I think the only difference is the probe style itself, one piercing and the other is non-piercing. I know on other devices such as Fluke, it doesn't matter.
