Any recommendations for a wireless temp monitor?

I'm planning on doing an overnight cook on the WSM and wanted to save the hassle of going back and forth during the middle of the night to check the inner temp of a pork shoulder.

Does anyone have any recommendations to which wireless temp monitor system works really well?

My vote for the Maverick 732. Its nice to be able to go to sleep, wake up and take a glance at the temps without having to get out of bed!

Only thing to note if you do go the 73 route is the range on the wireless function... 732 is MUCH better for that. Not sure how much distance you are needing.

If you do a search on the ET-732 you'll find a few lengthily threads pertaining to it.

Just ordered a Maverick ET-732 from Amazon for myself for Father's Day for $59.99. I had 6200 points on my Amazon VISA so it cost me $0.00.

That's a Father's Day present I can live with!

hahah! Thats pretty awesome! Happy fathers day to us eh? By the way...I LOVE the Maverick!!! I was able to get some rest and woke up when the butt was ready. My past cooks, I'd have to get up every 30min to an hour just to make sure the cooker isn't going outa whack! Have fun with the Mav!!! You definately won't regret it!

I own one but am not impressed. The concept is great, but the Chinese manufacturing leaves something to be desired. Have yet to finish a cooking session where it worked 100%.

ET73 or the newer ET732. Pretty much the same unit but the ET732 has some slight improvements. I have both and they work great. Never used them on an overnight cook but thats only because I haven't done one. I know they would work great overnight.

Have the older 73 But it works great. Althou a unit thats improved cant be bad right?

I've not had mine long, but the only issue I have had is sync loss when the receiver is on my desk surrounded by three laptops with wifi connections. I will learn more tonight as I will be doing an overnight brisket and hopefully the receiver will not leave my nightstand until morning.

I wasnt sure which thread about the 732 to bump, so I have picked this one.

Are there supply problems with the 732? I have found no one with one in stock. Is this a supply problem or is this something more sinister?

Darrin, I found them in Kansas city, and a couple web stores in New York. I know that Maverick is supposed to have a long wire avail for the unit this month. Think I will call them and find out about the supply issue. I just sent back another brand today and am looking for a 732 myself.

Mark, I'm interested in hearing what they have to say about upcoming supplies of the 732. Also, if you get a chance, could you link me stores that have the unit in stock (after you get yours of course

Thanks!
