Got my kit from Bryan, couldn't see any reason to not go this way if you are going to build your own. Getting everything from him was way easier than trying to order all the parts and pay shipping. Especially since the 4-way switch is sold out. It may even be cheaper buying from him, I didn't run the numbers.
Anyway got it all soldered up this evening, plugged in my already existing rPi, tweaked the pot and bam, No Pit Probe. Sweet!
This was at least 20x easier than the version 1.0 I built, which is still going strong with my WRT54G router
Got the bottom of the case printed and fit. Got another hour left on the top print, then I'll add the LEDs, and pray I got the LCD aligned properly. I should have waited for it before soldering up, but I'm not a very patient guy
