Another score! Free platinum?!

After giving my buddy my last score the $25 wsm the grilling gods were smiling on me once again and yesterday delivered me a dark green DD - '00 platinum or is it a performer minus the ignition?

Either way it was a free curb alert and the guy even brought it to me. To top it off he said that he customized it and made it himself. HA!

Its gonna clean up great and be my new daily cooker.

It cleaned up pretty durn good. Not as good as my blue 22 otg but this platinum is 8 years older. The sweeper blades however were in much better condition than blue's. I did have to remove them and bend them back. Which is much easier when you know what your doing.

I'm working my way through the kettle ranks. I started grilling on the 18 wsm cool but awkward, then got a 18" 3 wheeler, nice but my knees were sore and fingers were burning. So then I thought I was really up town when I got a black 22 ots. Loved cooking with that. Then I got the blue otg pretty cool. Dumping the ashes is tricky they aren't blowing around. And now the platinum whoa! The ashes are even trickier to dump and the slide-a-side leaves the lid more in the way than the hanger style. But the table is huge, much bigger than I thought and. The table and insulated top vent make it so worth it and a pleasure to grill on.

I can't wait to cook more on it and keep moving forward up the grill ranks.

Nice looking Platinum. I have one a lot like it. I like this design better than the newer one with small tables on either side. I think it's much better to have one larger work area.

My dream now is to find a decent cheap 26.75, find a cart that will fit it and have my son make a concrete counter top to go with it. It'll weigh a bit more than the plastic...

My table cleaned up pretty well with some Dawn. Or was that Simple Green?

I used my Platinum tonight to roast red peppers, tomatoes and onions for fire charred tomato soup and then followed with some sesame grilled rib-eyes..
