Hi everyone, been lurking on the forum for a bit and after my 1st cook on my WSM 18 I gots a few questions.

Been grilling for awhile on my Weber spirit 310, and on a kenmore starter grill before that. Ive always enjoyed grilling but have found great pleasure and relaxation this summer. I would like to learn and improve my grill/BBQ knowledge and am open to constructive criticism along the way.

Other than spending time with my 3 year old and my lovely lady, I'm a mountain biker.
I find in grilling and bbqing what I find in mountain biking. I can learn every time out. I'm 42 years old and I've been a serious mtn biker for 25 years, and I'm still figuring things out, still having oh wow moments. Just looking to add some oh wow meals...

Well Matt, welcome to "The Greatest Smoke on Earth"! You will learn (and hopefully share!) a lot of "oh wow" meals and lessons from the great people on this site!

thanks guys!! looking forward to many good meals to come.

my 1st smoke was some baby back ribs which came out pretty good, albeit a bit salty (due to the rub) and some whole chicken legs on the bottom rack, which were ok. should pulled the legs sooner.

i posted my 1st experience in the BBQ forum, if you folks have some advice
