Another impulse buy.

What model is that and what is it called? It's just an open grill? I scan CL every day and I've never seen a Weber like that. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen that model anywhere here in California.

My understanding is that it was a grill sold in Australia. I believe it's a Summit 400LP. It does not have a lid, the top slides off. I figured I could use it like a hibachi grill and like you I have never seen one before so I thought it would be cool to have.

its an aussie weber flattop !!

have one myself rusting away down the back yard near the creek

the stainless pieces clip on front and back to stop splatters

i will see what i can find out about these

its a summit thats for sure but its not called that here

they come in 4 and 6 burner

It's a Summit IIRC called the 400 here. It is a "flat top". Apparently a while back grilling "Aussie Style" was going to be the rage and a number of companies (including Weber) made units like this. I have seen them listed around here but have no desire for that type of grill. Can do the same thing just lid up grilling

The grill is really heavy duty. The grill grates look like they are half inch steel rod. I wonder how much these grills cost brand new.
