Hey guys, just trying to plan out my birthday cook coming up. I am gonna try the Sticky Ribs Recipe with four racks of baby backs, should be great. Now for my question.

I am planning on doing some bbq baked beans on the bottom grate right.....

1. Should I put them on right when I put on my ribs, or should I wait until my smoke has died down?? don't wanna *oversmoke* them??

2. Paul Kirk says that beans on the pit take about 3 hours...is this the same for the bottom rack of the bullet? How often should I stir them?? I am thinking about once an hour.

I don't think you need to stir them at low and slow temps.

I love Raichlen's beans, which have these components (off the top of my head):

onions sauteed in the grease from the bacon you're putting in

cans of cooked navy beans
brown sugar
molasses
dry mustard
lea and perrins
maple syrup
some of your favorite bbq sauce or ketchup
cider vinegar
diced jalapenos [/list]

Good stuff!
